Thanks for the kind comments guys! I have started taking Busa for a walk every morning in a park close to us off leash. He is doing so well i can`t believe it! If he wanders off one call and he is running as fast as he can back to me! maybe because he knows he is getting a treat if he comes back lol. Tomorrow morning im going to only reward every 3rd time he comes back to try and get him used to the idea that sometimes you dont get a treat. Do you think this is a good idea? and from here loose the treats a bit so that he only gets one every now and again?

Here is a few more pics of my boy! has anyone here have an opinion on what i have written in the post above?

This is his newest trick! laying and staring at a treat on the ground for as long as i want him to! i cant believe how easy he is to train!

Nek Minet! - He gets told to eat it and charges at it to get it lol!

    And just chilling out!

Great to see you putting in the effort to train your dog, you will be rewarded with a great friend and a dog that everyone loves. Staffies are mostly very easy to train, firstly they love pleasing people ... and they are hungry guts lol. He is gorgeous, i wish you all the best and please keep the photo's coming!

    Hi Podge

You're looking to transition from treat vending machine to treat pokie machine, ie sometimes you pay out and sometimes you pay big, and sometimes not at all - and it's a little bit random. The easiest way to focus on phasing out treating every time... is to treat "average or better", was that recall as good as his average, or better? he gets a treat. If it was a really fantastic recall - he gets a really good treat or lots of treat or both. And he always gets pats and praise. Cos you always want him to be pleased to come back to you. If it was a crap recall (ready in a minute or not at all), he just gets a pat and you can laugh at him and say you can do better than that...

He is absolutely stunning Podge, what a beautiful looking boy, he's looking nice and solidly built too.

Good to hear your training is coming on well. I've left my training lapse and it shows. Started again today, she remembered our trigger words to concentrate on me and get a yummy treat rather than try and launch across in front of me on our walk to say hi to the dogs coming the other way.

What are you using for your treats for Busa?
