    Talking Cattle Dog Owners

So how many of you guys out there own a Cattle Dog?

I have a beautiful 2 and half yo male Blue Cattle Dog

Do you guys ever get people come over and say "I'm not going near that dog, thats a cattle dog!"

It pisses me off! My dog is the biggest sook in the world! Sure, he barks at the postman, but what dog doesn't!?

It's not the dog, it's the owners and how they treat the dog! Grrrr

I have to admit, I'm not a Cattle dog person. But I was working last year and a friend came in with a stray he'd found, a little red Cattle boy. He had spent an hour door knocking where he found him and not located any owners. He asked me to take him instead of sending him to the pound, as he seemed like something special. I agreed - I'd had bad experiences with our local pound putting dogs down very quickly... We left his details with the Rangers - he wasn't chipped or callered, and he came home with me. He was never claimed.

This little guy was an absolute gem. He played every day with my toddler and never mouthed her or anyone else - which at his age (about 3 months) was good for any pup. He learned things from being asked once - no exceptions. He was an awesome little guy, and taught me and my family a new perspective on the breed.

We nicknamed him Spud. He taught my young Borzoi boy (who was an only dog at the time and shy with other dogs) a mountain of confidence, and they were best buddies - Borzoi and Cattle Dog??

I'll never be quick to judge the breed again, they can and are awesome dogs.

    I'll find some pics...

He went to live with a friend of mine from work, and is her young teenage son's constant companion. Great little dog.

I am soon to be the owner of not a cattle dog (which I know as blue healers or red healers) but a Koolie x Rottwieler, (Koolies are a working dog similar to Kelpies, Collies and healers)

I know that people have a very bad idea of rottwielers but i think any dog can be aggressive/ badly behaved if they are not trained properly

Here he is about a week ago
