    Wink Cross Breed Dogs

    Hi,

Was just wondering if there was anyone out there interested in starting a cross bred dog section.

One of my crosses is a staffy x boarder collie and the other is a mastiff cross.

I find that as a cross bred owner, I have a different set of issues with my two.

So is there anyone else other there with a lovely cross bred pooch?

    Yes

Bitza blue heeler and maybe dalmation, maybe other farm dogs like kelpie and or short haired border collie. Or a long legged staffy. Hard to tell. Fun guessing. I haven't noticed any special issues because of her crossbreededness.

Love your siggy Dreamingoflove, what beautiful animals you have.

I've just got the one doggie. Jenna my Golden Retriever x Samoyed, an absolute joy. So good natured and gentle.

Aw, it sounds like you all have lovely dogs.

As for issues. I have had behavioral problems with my staffy x. Mainly because she seems to have gotten to more difficult traits from both breeds such as digging, whinning, excessive energy etc etc even though her temperement is very loving.

Sam has advanced hip dysplasia, which has cost in the thousands to deal with.

    Pictures?

I have both crossed dogs and a pedigree. I don't find that any of them have special problems because of it. They have behaviour issues sometimes because they're bored, or they haven't been able to burn off energy, or other issues, but I don't think its because they're either crossed or pure....

My girl is a bit of a guessing game, but general consensus is staffy x ridgeback. I can see traits of both in looks and characteristics, but what I find interesting is others reactions. If someone is a staffy lover, they always comment on the staffy in her, and ridgie lovers always ask about her being ridgeback. Does that make sense?

I love the way she's so gentle and laid back, paces herself to whatever we are doing - she hardly ever barks either. But then she 'talks' away happily to us and can turn on the turbo chargers when it's play time. She can be a little bit whiney but generally not too bad, and is always yawning!

I think I have the best of both worlds but then again I'm pretty biased....

My heeler is a x collie I think. I have no problems either. I think all is really covered in the general section for all breeds or crosses, questions we may have. This is still a small forum.

6 out of 9 in my pack are crosses and there really aren't any great issues with them. The only prob I've had is a dominance thing with my GSD x maremma boys who are brothers. 2 x 55kg dogs fighting is not a pleasant sight especially when I have to break them up. Mind you, we seem to have sorted the prob and it has been heavenly the last couple of months.....PHEW!!!
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.
