i tried to speak french I learned at school after spending two weeks in Germany speaking german I sort of learned at tafe (trade school, intro level). It was a disaster.

I did manage to get some Americans the sweet white wine they wanted by ordering them a dessert wine to go with their steak, much to the waiter's horror. But once he got over how wrong that was, everybody was happy.

I grew up in Belgium - Flandres - and came here 14 years ago.

So my mother tongue is Dutch/Flemish, but I also speak French and German - in order of fluency.

17 dogs is just amazing! Do you live in the country?

I'm so pleased they are inside. I was a bit worried you might have them in kennels. I like to see dogs as members of the household, but a lot of people would not cope with 17. Are any of your dogs kept because they had big problems and you felt that their best chance was with you? (This will be marvellous for your English language practise!!!) If you feel up to it, we have a Rescue Dog Stories, full of stories of the dogs we've rescued and loved and we all happy cry through the stories. You'd be our first foreign story. No. You might be second. Someone rescued a dog in America, I think, and brought it to Australia. I THINK it was in the rescue dogs thread.

Will you be bringing your dogs with you to Australia looping? So many questions here for you, we are not nosey....just a little over friendly at times.

I think looping meant their son lives in Melbourne, not that they themselves will soon live in Melbourne. Visiting might be a possibility. But some of those dogs would not be allowed into Australia because of the BSL - prohibited dogs.
