    Default Hi Forum

    Hello!

I am new to Australia; I moved here with my fiancé and am currently in the process of citizenship. He and I have been involved with dogs for quite a while now, him through the fact his family raised show Cavaliers as he was growing up and he was a big part of their showing and training. I, on the other hand, have about six months of vet technician training and alongside that worked in rescue and foster for three years of my life. We are bringing home a puppy in June; our puppy is a unique little fellow who has a heart of gold and fighter perseverance with how he took his first few moments of life. His story is that during birth it got a little jostled and his umbilical cord tore a bit and when my friends and I arrived, originally to play with the dogs she had, she requested I come assist her with applying pressure to the umbilical cord. She was on the phone with her vet who asked, that she go get a puppy vita-supplement she had given her a day before for in case something like that had happened and she was unable to make it out. So while the breeder went to get the supplement to help give him a jump start in battling off the blood loss, I held him and applied pressure and all the while I just kind of sub consciously muttered encouragement to him! To our amazement he quit bleeding after only a couple minutes of me holding him, and she gave him the supplement to boost his strength. By the time we left, he was beating up siblings for food and doing just fine! We haven’t yet picked out a name for him, his registered name is looking to be Zero to Hero but in terms of call names we’re torn!

I'd suggest Max - after Mad Max the movie character. He could take a lot of punishment and keep going.

Or maybe something derived from "MacDuff" who had an unusual birth and proved to be the end of MacBeth...
    Like Duffy or Mac.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
