Certainly should be. Socialisation from 3 - 8 weeks with their mum and litter mates is essential to pups. This is when they learn a lot about interacting with other dogs, they learn some bite inhibition etc. Then 8 - 16 weeks is critical for outside socialisation (away from mum and litter).

I just hope my pup is a social little butterfly and the dominant one of the group lol... he will need to be quite strong headed if him and Nala are ever going to co-exist hahaha...she isnt very submissive.

It would probably be easier if she would remain the dominant one anyway, as she's older and the first dog? Not to mention... a female!

Yeah he should definitely be down the bottom of the pack pecking order. If he tried to dispute her position later on, she might not be to happy with that and it could cause some issues!

I dont want them to have a tiff but its inevitable... my OH said when they do eventually have a tiff we shouldn’t really intervene...how do others with more than one dog manage this situation.

My dogs have never had a fight (and one of them is dog aggressive) lol I suppose it will all depend how dominant Nala is and if she gets jealous or not I suppose.

With mine I made the introduction very slow, no time together unsupervised for at least a month until I was satisfied Harley was okay will having Bella around.
