Thread: Greetings from Finland

    Smile Greetings from Finland

Hi. I apologize writing errors already in advance Cold greetings from Finland. Here is 15 degrees and it is summer! That is one of the reasons why I am coming to Australia on September. Me and my boyfriend are going to stay in your beautiful country until May 2011. I am 27yo and have two border collies which unfortunately can´t come with us. My two friends will take care of them during our staying in Australia.

Reason why I am writing is a curious toward Australian dog culture. In Finland I worked as a dog trainer for a couple of years. I am competing in obedience in the highest level with my older BC. I have also done agility, tracking, search and rescue and herding. I would like to take part in some dog events while staying in Australia. I am also interested in for example helping in some rescue shelters etc. We will have working holiday visas and it would be great to have at least short period job with dogs but I don´t know if that´s possible. We are planning to travel across the country so we most likely don´t stay long time in one place (you have such a big country!). I am also interested in other animal related jobs. Most likely I end up spending my time picking fruits anyway

But you can be aware that there will be one Finnish girl reading your topics

    Hi and welcome

Our most popular rescue shelter is the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), they take volunteers easily, but a paying job is a bit more complicated.

Come down to the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

^Thank you for the information We definately will come to Victoria but this is the first time when I hear about Mornington Peninsula so you need to tell me a bit more about it to convince me to come there

Volunteer job would be good as well if I also have a paying job. In any case I am going to have lots of leisure time since i don´t have my own dogs there...
