    Smile G'day, G'day

Hi, I am Di. We are Rice (uggh the drought) and beef cattle farmers in rural NSW.
I lost my beloved Blue Heeler at age 14 (great innings, huh) in December. I now "share" a blue heeler bitch with my father in law, lol. She spends half her time here, half there. My husband and I swore no more pet dogs after shadow died as both kids are grown and away and we had been there done that many times over during the years.

Enter in June a new working dog/pet of my father in Law's. Pretty girl (pre named before we got her, shortened to Pretty) The little cow crept straight into my heart.

I am very active on bird forums (have 3 cockatiels) and hope to be active here as well.

Hi Di, welcome to the forum

Sorry to hear you lost your old dog Shadow. They leave our life, but never our hearts.
I also have a cockatiel...though I know nothing much about them..lol I rescued mine from minor birds attacking him on the rd....he was tame and no-one claimed him...so he's been here for the past 6 yrs now!

G'day and a big welcome to you. So sorry to hear about Shadow's loss. You must post a photo of Pretty.
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.

    Hey Di.

I forgot that I hadn't got off my bum and said hello properly.

    So - hello.

Pretty is a pretty girl, I saw her in her pregnancy thread . We have cockatiels too - they are the clowns of the household, except one of them has taken recently to trying to eat the plaster walls (even she has lots of proper calcium stuff to eat, it's just that the walls taste much nicer!) I hope yours are better behaved!

Mine just tend to poo all over my hair, furniture and woe betide any remote, phone or laptop open and unattended for a split second.

Do you feed them grains/veges too?
I will be pleased when my son's male goes home. Son stupidly surface sprayed some places the bird goes when he was alone there so boofhead is here a while longer than planned. Boofhead is the tiel's name, should be my son's name for this one.
