thank you Anne. that would be a better routine to follow. i think i was just nervous, first night and all, as the foster carer has had her mostly outside, altho he did say one night he let her stay in, and she was a good girl.

btw. all tips, tricks and hints gratefully accepted. altho my husband is well used to all kinds of animals, dogs especially, this is my first dog. I have always had cats. i should be alright after a short steep learning curve! lol..

i am going to ask about training classes at the vet too, altho she has had some training, some more wouldn't hurt, and i think -I- need the classes as well.

thank you all for the welcomes too..

vet visit went well.. there was an emergency and we had to wait, we were there for just on 2 hours, and TL was so good.. she made friends with all the staff there of course, and they all loved her, were really surprised we had only collected her yesterday. kept saying how lucky we were, and how lucky she was too, as the vet bill mounted.. lol..

they all, including the vet, thought greyhound straight up, with maybe bull mastiff, or great dane, or ridgeback, or some of all of those! lol.. one of the assistants said her friend has a dane/ridgeback/greyhound mix, and that dog looks a lot like TL.

vet thinks she is around 2 years old, fully grown, she's 33 kilos, with good teeth, heart and lungs sound good. cleaned her ears. thoroughly checked her all over. rash is more likely an allergic reaction to something, maybe even grass, or the shampoo that was used on her.. or some dermatitis due to not being dried well enough at some point, or a collar issue perhaps, altho not due to the collar her last foster carer gave her, she is still wearing that one. (not while she is home tho, i take it off) she is glad TL is now in a completely different environment, whatever irritated her might be gone. so pills, a cream and a shampoo all designed to stop itching, kill bacteria and reduce inflammation.. should fix it soon.

poor girl is exhausted after keeping us up for most of the night, and is sleeping on her bed again.

i have just googled bull arab, and looked at a stack of pics, and there might be something about TL's head, the eyes and forehead perhaps, that look a little alike.

    Hi there and welcome

I believe your dog definately has bull arab in her. The Bull arab is made up of Greyhound, bull terrior and pointer..hence where her greyhound looks come from

You can read up on the Bull Arab standard here: bullarab.com.au - Bull Arab Standard
