Default Hi New and Wanting Info

Hi I'm Jess, my username is Nessie after my Quaker parrot Nessie ^^ I'm 24 years old and I and my fiancee have a mini foxy cross. She's seven years old and is the smartest doggie we've ever had. I've joined the site because I want to find other owners who's dogs have been diagnosed with Glaucoma or secondary glaucoma, A week and a half ago Tilly had been attacked by a cat and the pressure from the attack gave her glaucoma, she also has lens luxation which means she has to lose her right eye.

But we would like to meet other dog members who have had similar for support and further knowledge and info regarding to how the dog has adapted and what not.

    Cheers,

    Jess

thanks for the welcome guys and I passed on the hug for Tilly, she can't get enough of attention at the moment as she's gone a bit quiet I think with this eye problem, I think its been causing her a bit of discomfort even though she's on pain medication and what not, I'm sure she doesn't understand whats happening to her. But I'm loving the forum so surprised I haven't stumbled across it before.

    hello and
Poor Tilly I don't have any experience with this but I think that usually dogs adapt very quickly to new situations so I hope she will be her normal her again soon
I love your username! One of the dogs I grew up with was called Baronesse. We called her Nessie like the monster of Loch Ness which suited her very well (she was a monster )

Rwscuing Pugs, I have had a fair bit of experience with eye issues including the permanent removal of eyes and blindness.

Most dogs cope well with the loss of sight although some can become quite stressed and fearful. As it is only 1 eye she will be possibly fine.

We have had several blind Pugs here and they have adapted well.

    thanks everyone for the welcome
I've got photo's just have to transfer them to my computer cause last week we took some recent ones of her so we've got some of her with her eye still ><

but yeah tomorrow she's in for her operation so keep your fingers crossed that all will go to plan. Tilly should adapt well, I just hope that her humans will as well as it'll be a huge change. We're more worried for her good eye because she will be on preventative medication for the rest of her life.
