    Default Hello from SA

Hi everyone! New here, from adelaide western suburbs (near glenelg beach). Only adopted my beautiful border collie pup a few days ago. Her names Ivy and she's 10 weeks old. She has odd eyes and is just adorable! Have waited 2 years to get my new puppy so it's very exciting! We start puppy school Thursday and once she's completely vaccinated I can't wait to get out and about with her more and attend more doggy events!
Will try attatch a photo of her, what's the best way to dothat?

    So very cute Flick

The way you've attached is the best way.

When you're done with puppy school - you can head over to West Beach SA Agility Dog Club for foundation training (how to be a good puppy and how to wear a BC out with trick training). Thursday nights from about 6:30pm ish.

When I get a working website link for them - I will add it here.

That sounds great the agility training! Most events seem to be on weekends, and I work every weekend, so Thursday nights would be perfect. I definitely want to continue with training and be very active with her in the doggy community.

    Hi Flick -

You wouldn't be able to compete in agility until your dog is about 18 months old but there is so much training to be done before you get there. In summer quite a few events are evening events and some clubs occasionally have "mock trials" on training night. There's a few clubs that train week nights but West Beach Road would be closest to you - you follow the sign to the German Shepherd club behind the soccer field. Ask for Geoff cos he's friendly or if you leave your puppy in the car to start with - ask anyone. Assume all the dogs are grumpy especially the BC - don't say hello without asking first. Some are insanely friendly but mostly it's best to ask first.

If you can sign up for Susan Garrett's "Freecallers" and do the core games in there (and then make them gradually harder)... that's a start.
