    Talking New and Enthused

Hey everyone! My name is Steph, and I'm 14 years old. I was browsing on the internet and came across this forum, and I decided to join to see what more I could learn about my favourite animal.

I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, but in my heart I hold a special place for greyhounds. March last year (I can say last year now, ha ha) I fell in love with a greyhound x whippet that I found while browsing on the RSPCA website. We traveled half an hour out of town to meet her, and she was so nervous, yet insanely friendly... a beautiful dog. I fell in love with her, and I told myself that I would do everything in my power to have her. With lots of hard work and persuasion, my parents finally agreed to let me adopt her. She was agreed to be my 4-month-early birthday present . . . best present ever! So, after being surrendered to the RSPCA twice in her short lifetime, Lucky now lives with a 10-year-old border collie dachshund mix (who she is so patient with, and him with her), three cats, four chickens, two birds and several fish... along with a full-on human family of two adults and three kids (myself included). And out of all those creatures, I'm the one she looks for. She's my best friend, my Lucky dog... and I really am lucky to have her. Thankyou, God, for bringing her into my life!

Here are some pictures of her:

The photo on the RSPCA website that I fell in love with... look at those eyes!

With her Christmas prezzie, a squeaky Santa.

Peering up at me with the most gorgeous eyes.

Anyway, thanks so much for reading and putting up with me go gaga over my dog. I hope I'm not the only one out there who thinks their dog is just amazing.

Thanks. She is a gorgeous dog, in both looks and personality. Haha.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes. And yes, she is the best present I could ever ask for.
As matter of fact, Lucky is actually going into surgery tomorrow. She's having a lump removed from her leg. The vet isn't quite sure what it is. At the moment it's just in the skin, so she's going to remove it before it gets any worse. Afterwards she'll send it away to be analyzed to figure out what it is. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I'll start up another thread and I'll put up a picture of it... see if anyone else has seen anything like it.

Fingers and paws crossed for Lucky today...

It's wonderful how you found each other
