I went to a new? pet shop called pet cafe - behind a BP service station - ie the sign is mixed in with the subway, and the wokinbox and on the run signs etc. Except it is a great big barn full of goodies.

They also had roo jerky 1kg bag $10 cheaper (or 20% off) than the other supplies shop I'd been getting it from. Sigh. And I bought a bob alot. Which really frustrated Frosty. Eventually I put it in the crate so she wouldn't be rolling it under the TV and she beat it up until it was empty.

So a year or so ago - first really wet winter we had, I tried getting her a rain coat drizabone type thing. Every time we put it on her she kind of lowered herself like we were putting a 10 tonne weight on her back. So there goes that idea.

I watched a doco yesterday where they were training dogs to jump out of a helicopter in Italy for water rescues. I was amazed at how much they loved the job, tails wagging and pulling hard for there turn to jump. All had there little life jackets on and there was a newfie.
I was amazed a dog of that size can happilly jump from a helicopter but she did.

    Was a great doco!

I can't afford the amount of destruction they could could cause, and the amount of toys and treats they would claim!

I live in Noosa and most of the business owners here are nasty and unwelcoming, like you are doing THEM a favour by buying from there store, pet shops are the same. I have only been in two of them once or twice with a dog with me (extremely well behaved) and was frowned on with one suggesting dogs are not supossed to be inside shops, and could i tie her up outside?

She said some people come in to buy fish food and birds and dont appreciate dogs in the businesses, so yes, they dont get my business.

I usually buy online (half the price anyway) or drive the 40 mins to Maroochydore where dogs are welcomed!

They definitely leave all the yummy un-wrapped treats at doggy eye level on purpose!!! When I first picked Molly up from the shelter as a STARVING dog we went right to the pet shop to ger her fitted for a harness etc and she went absolutely bonkers trying to steal all the pig ears, kangaroo lumbar etc haha!

All the petshops, 2x Petstock and Domain are very encouraging here to bring your pets in....They even give out treats. I think that is the way it should be. Also the Saddlery's and feed places have no problems at all.
I take my dogs to as many places as possible and as often as possible

I find that in Perth's northern suburbs where we shop, customers are encouraged to bring pets in, there are signs up saying if your pet is sociable they are welcome. Better Pets and Gardens seem to be giving City Farmers and Pet Stock a run for their money and it's good, makes them all more competitive, plus if the management have any common sense they would realise that happy dog owners will spend a small fortune if they're getting a good deal. The staff have treats and ask your dog to sit and then treats are plentiful, much to Ruby's delight!!

Oh my god, let me get this straight!! You are saying that dogs are NOT allowed in pet stores in Noosa? How Redunculous!! Cav, it's a bit of a drive, but you should check out Pets Best Friend at Kawana on Nicklin Way!! It's awesome, and they even have Whoops stations, in case your little mate has an accident (or if like Oskar, piss where ever he wants, because he can lol)
