Default It has been 5 years since Annabelle's Gotcha day

It is amazing to think that it has been five years since we brought Annabelle home. I still remember the phone call," I have a difficult newfie girl, you are her last chance", if only we had known what we know now.

Annabelle has been a Journey for us, that changed our whole life.........She made me search for answers

From dog and people aggressive terror (with bite history) to my sweet Annabelle, trusted friend and social butterfly of the Kennel Club

We adore her, she is my special friend.........I understand her and she me. As she is lying here beside me, I realize we are very lucky to have her..........Everyone thought she should be PTS, she proved them wrong We love our little mini newf, we knew she could do it Happy Gotcha Day

Yes bought as a show dog, into a experienced show home....We think She was rather difficult and there was a separation/divorce. They took it out on her. She was crated for 24/7, abused, very thin, skin was a mess 34kg when we got her and 50kg in 4-6weeks), ears were totally blocked and very infected, matted and terrified, but very forward in her aggression once she got going.......

I knew she had a solid ten weeks as a puppy and most likely a good first few months. the people changed from newfie to another breed to show. I think her dog aggression came from the fact other dogs were kept in a different manner at the same place. She was reported back to the Breeder by someone and just taken back.........RSPCA, became involved to try and get her back, they recommended PTS, Delta was involved (PTS), 2 behaviourist vets (PTS) and a few refused to help. So then there was us....Living on a property, no kids, used to newfies and silly LOL..........

She attached herself to me immediately, never ever, even in the middle of fights has she touched me. Same cannot be said for my husband.......If I ever had a dog like her again, we would have dealt with her differently in the first few weeks. We know better now and have learned from the experience and been able to help other dogs thanks to learning from her and the people who helped us

But with her I started a journey, that made me realise there are many different ways of training and that we should NEVER close our eyes to anything.
