Yeah I agree. The last thing we want to see is another dog being surrendered because it became to much work...

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

I totally agree, if you dont find what you want, keep looking.

BUT, and surely im not the only guilty party here...

I cant leave a box of pups without taking one! So to manage my nature vs common sense, i dont go and see puppies. I do it on the phone. I meet parents, but not pups. Then have the breeder select for me. Then, when the decision, deposit is secure, then i go and see them. I cant not take a pup.

So if you are like me, either just grab one and be done with it. And lets face it, back yard bred Am staff: $450. Pure bred reputable breeder? slightly more i suspect. Market forces n all that.
If you want to get picky, stay away from 'seeing' puppies, or one will pick you.

Lucky, im desperately trying to persuade my son, that one of your dogues would be better than the rottie they are saving for. Not coz i want him to have a pup, but just so i can be near it and pretend its MINE!

Oh I dont deny I am a complete impulse puppy buyer. But IMO, some impulse puppy buyers arent lifers. I am a lifer, I might get a new pup on a whim, but regardless of its personality/temperament (within reason) or looks etc, that pup will be with me (and adored by me) for its entire life.

Not everyone is like that. It just seems to me that OP is so desperate to get a dog, that it comes across (to me only) as a little "contrived" is maybe the word I am lookign for (maybe not). Like, they want a dog because its the thing to do or soemthing....I dunno.

No offence OP, I am not good at typing stuff and getting it to say what I mean so perhaps you are similar and I am just misconstruing.

I see you are only 16 now OP...so eager is actually what you are. Not contrived...sorry.

So eager to get a dog you are not fully understanding the consequences of your actions.

In regards to lookign after your family dog when you turned 10, the dog would have been around 10 so they are aready pretty settled at that age. Way different.

    Are you in Victoria?

Amstaff x SBT will get confiscated by council rangers - if you can get one registered at all. They would look enough like the pitbull visual id that they're using to be taken from you.

Do not get one of these. If you want Amstaff or SBT - you are best (in Victoria) to get a pedigree one with papers.

And in Victoria - it's illegal to sell a puppy without microchip. So watch out for that one as well.
