How can you put a maximum price on a family member? You pay what you want for the dog you want....ya know, purebreds have some pretty outrageous prices too if you want to look at it that way.

Yes yes, I know the arguments, "they are health tested" etc etc ad nauseum. And sometimes this happens with crosses. Ya know how purebred bashing gets a bit boring, so does expensive crossbreed bashing. If thats what people want to pay, why shouldnt they?
Lol I was just looking at some Frechie pups to sus out prices... I'll be looking somewhere around $2000 - $3000 for a pup I know what the OH will say when I tell him how much the dog I want costs...

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

I think the term "designer" is just word someone put to describe the "latest fashion TREND dog to have", like a designer handbag ,trends change and i dont think they are as sought after or as trendy as they were initially.
Pure bred "FASHION TRENDS", latest must have dog breeds, have been around forever "handbag chihwawas" (lazy spelling?),made trendy by the movie stars were the rage not so long ago, malteses were the in thing for a while, afghans in the 70's were the cool dog to have, pitbulls have always been the fashion accessory for those looking to enhance their image.

So i really dont see the difference, trends are trends, why is ok to have this years latest in PB must haves... but not well bred cross breds? I think everyone would agree there is no difference buying a well bred x or well bred PB?
And whether it's a designer handbag or the latest designer breed, purebred or not, its the maker and the quality of that handbag that should be considered...at the end of the day ....a dog is a dog!

LOL jadie...yea we are looking at 3-4k on a bulldog. But we wont be getting it for about 5 years so probably more like 5-6k LMAO.

OH is quite aware of the price, and the fact itll probably be expensive healthwise (or could be) and is not bothered because its his choice of dog. You can guarantee if it was my choice, itd be a no go LMAO

If you want a well bred bully with the least amount of issues poss, you have to pay for it. Thats just how it goes.

3k is a small price to pay for a family member though IMO....I would have paid that for pippi or barney and they are just mutts

Don't the outrageously expensive breeds come from rare breeds, where one or both of parents/grandparents have been imported, costing $10000 plus, or that due to extremes of breeding fashion, every birth is a major veterinary operation? Just don't start me, don't start me, don't start me... These Crookwell people have a registered, show winning quality poodle and ditto border collie??? Or... not... What is wrong with this thought process?? How does that add up to $1500? Do they sell the first 2 to Sydney North Shorers, for $1500 and the last 2 at the ,Crookwell farmer's market, at 4 months, for $50 each??

Why would you want to cross a border collie with something like that. -.-
No one loves you like your dog does.
