    Default Dogforum Meet Carter.....

Sorry for the phone quality pics

He is a sweetie. Clearly a little withdrawn due to his last 6 weeks being a bounce around between foster carers and 3 potential adoptive homes. So he is here with me and is on his 2 week shutdown, hopefully I can bring out some more of his personality.

So far he is quite sweet, quiet, whines but I have yet to hear him bark, he doesn't even bark when my dogs bark from another room, I tried to throw a toy for him and he wasn't really interested, he just wants to follow me around or sit on the couch (see pictures above haha). He seems to have some mild sep anxiety that really only involves whining when he can hear me around the house or after I have put him back in his room. He did break out of my wire crate so I left him in the small spare room when I went out and I am pretty sure he didn't get off the couch for 5 hours. He has a lot of scars on his front legs and his head, not entirely sure of why or how he got them. He also has some skin issues but they seem to be clearing up. He is very chilled out, ie: just sort of plods around, a little apprehensive but not fearful (from what I have seen so far). He seems gentle, even when he has jumped up it has been in a very gentle way and seems more like he is asking for support then actually attention seeking.
He likes to sit on your lap or as close to you as possible, which I expected, it seems to be a Pitbull trait haha.
I cant tell if he is a naturally quiet, chilled out dog or if that is just a side affect of being bumped around so much and not being allowed to settle in any where properly, I am sure I will find out over the next few weeks.

Currently he is curled up on the couch next to me, his stomach is making halarious noises. About to put him back into his bedroom and then head to bed myself.

I am sure he is going to make someone a very happy puppy parent, we just need to find the right person for him.

So 2 weeks it is and hopefully he opens up a bit and shows me more of himself. Will keep updating with pictures and stories.

Poor thing. I hope he finds the right owner soon. For now at least he's in good hands. Hope it all works out for you guys.

Love the blue nail polish by the way......

Oh my....what a little honey He really does have a very sad look in his eyes, do you know his history before coming to rescue? I have to say he dosent have that twinkle in his eye, and is terribly sad on the inside.
I sometimes get a glimpse of things when I see a dog, and this little fellow has a sad history. God, now i really am sounding like the crazy dog lady.....

Sorry, that was just my immediate thoughts when I saw your little fellow...
I am so glad he is with you now, I get the feeling he will suprise you!

Those eyes are telling a story, that's for sure. Gorgeous boy, I do hope he finds a forever home with someone that will treasure him, he's lovely.

I do hope his mood improves soon - I'd love to see photos of him with his ears engaged, rather than back the way they are, no doubt from having an anxious mind over his moving about so often lately. That photo of him on the couch just screams that he's waiting for the other shoe to drop, and off to another new place and {more} rejection. Heartbreaking. I hope you can bring his heart to the fore.

    Best of luck little dude.

He has sad eyes..........I wonder if he would be interested in a raccoon tail..........I have found a few dogs with no interest in toys, but very few are able to ignore our raccoon tail. It is literally a raccoon tail on a lead.

Give the sweetie a hug from me and I will be hoping for a forever home for him.........

Agree with everyone else - he is gorgeous but looking kinda sad. Lots of cuddles required. Very clever of you to match your nail polish with dog lead!

What a gorgeous boy! He is definitely in the best place he can be right now though

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Oh I want to cuddle that baby ... I've never had the need for so many tissues for a long time - my eyes have this leaking problem lately.

    Looking forward to his progress
