Scars on his head and forelegs... Poor bugger hasn't been a bait dog has he?

Hoping he feels more secure soon, I'm sure he'll relax a bit under your care. Give him an extra hug from me.

What a beautiful face, even with the sad eyes.
I am so glad that he has you to care for him and show him what love is.

The scars could be from trying to escape what ever it was that was tormenting him. They do tend to be very hard to keep behind chain link fencing and if he forced his way through that it could have caused some damage.

How is he going Keira? Is there anyway you can find out his history, i would really like to know and im sure it would help in his rehab. I REALLY feel bad for this little guy, i want to hug him and take him home and spoil him forever.

When i look at his pics...i think i have the same contagious disease that is inflicting findeb and chubbs...runny eye disease

Sorry for my lack of replies, busy day.

He seemed to start coming out of his shell today, he had a play with some toys this morning before I went out. And this arvo he played a small game of fetch out in the backyard and marked every fence pailing (or so it seemed lol). We came back in for cuddles and the blanket on my couch causes static electricity and as he came to sit with me he got a zap....it put him back heaps he became nervous and wouldnt sit on that particular part of the couch again and seemed frightened to come to near, he got a bit better but held himself apart from me while still trying tto be close to me. I have just put him back in his room, hopefully he will feel better when I bring him back out later. The whole thing makes me wonder what has happened to him to cause such a strong reaction :-(

I agree with others his eyes tell a sad story, poor chook. The scars I have no idea, to be honest I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between teeth scars and other scars. You can see some in the pictures above.

CavQLD I will be asking the foster coordinator a bit more about his past, not sure how much they know but will update you on what I find out.

Thanks so much for all your messages and support.

So he perked up again the second time I bought him out last night, he was still a bit unsure of that particular part of the couch but with some coaxing jumped up and cuddled with me while I watched some TV. Yay!

He BARKED this morning, caught me completely off guard haha, one quick woof woof and that was it. But I feel like it is a sign he is feeling more comfortable, and he helped himself to the toy box this morning also a good sign. He is so gentle when he takes treats and good from my hand, such a beautiful boy.

Will be talking to the rescue today to find out some more about his history.

Thank you for the updates Keira, really happy he is settling in a bit and feeling more comfortable. How is he with your other dogs?

Cav QLD I haven't introduced him to my dogs yet, letting him settle in first and will probably try an introduction with Phoenix on the weekend.

I spoke to the rescue and basically he was pulled from Renbury Pound in NSW, they are unsure of his history prior to him ending up there. He DIDNT have the scars when they first pulled him, one of his previous foster carers was silly enough to leave him with her 2 dogs unsupervised, the scars are the result of that.
His skin condition is much better than it was apparently, she said he lost almost all his fur, I am a bit worried there is a weed in my backyard that is causing him some dramas as he is really worrying at his feet and I think he made them bleed last night, so I am going to have to organise for him to have a vet visit I think.

Other than that I swear he is getting happier every time I bring him out of his room, he is prancing around the house now and last night he was sitting on my lap (like entire body on my lap haha) and when I called his name to stop him chewing his feet he turned around put his two front legs/feet over my shoulders, pinned me to the couch and then rape licked me all over my face, had me in stitches. The whining when I leave him in his room is getting better, it doesn't last near as long anymore and isn't as loud.
I can't wait to start getting him out and about (with a cute adopt me bandanna), I think he is a real advocate for his breed, he is so sweet natured and calm, extremely obedient and polite.
As soon as his Pet Rescue profile is back up I will post it here so if any of you want to you can share it on FB etc.
