Default Have a Foster Pittie coming tomorrow....

I am super excited, I take on my first foster Pittie (well not including little Motley which was a bit different) tomorrow morning. His name is Carter he is 17 months old and has unfortunately had a few failed prospective adopters (not his fault) but apparently he is a very sweet dog, an old man in a young dogs body, she seems to think he should do fine with female dogs (although Keira will be kept separate completely and Phi will be introduced slowly). Can't wait to meet him.

    Pictures to follow after tomorrow

You posted an article about introducing a new dog some time ago.

Thank you so much, it helped enormously to introduce the fosters I have/had here.
All the best, it should be a great and fun experience for all of you.

Was it the 2 week shutdown Chubb?
Yep I will be rereading that this arvo to prep myself.
Should be interesting having a male dog, seeing as I have only had females.

Yes but we did not go the 2 weeks, I found that 5 days seemed the limit for the foster in the "guest bedroom".
(door scratching and the odd whimper on day 5)
So I would let foster out to rumpus room with baby gate separating from main lounge area.
Snoop could lick and sniff the new arrival for an hour or so at a time. If all waggy tails and luv luv then 2-3 days
after that a 10 min play, then back to separation. Another 10 min in the evening, gradually extending together time.

Good luck. I love foster carers, it takes special people to do that.

Don't worry about having a boy at your place - I find them very sooky. I am sure you and the girls will have him eating out of your hands/paws very quickly ! Good luck - how exciting ! Or of course - heaps of photos !
