Default Suggestions on what breeds my dogs may be?

I have 2 dogs that we have adopted from the shelter and out of curiosity would like to know what breeds everyone thinks they might have in them.

The first one is Meika, we adopted her in November and she is about the size of a beagle. She is white with a lot of blue/black spots and we think she may be cattle dog cross something (possibly spaniel or beagle). She is very light footed, loves to 'talk' like cattle dogs, is extremely energetic and springy and LOVES to play with toys.

The second dog is Molly, we adopted her about a week ago and she is still quite skinny so it's hard to know what she will look like once she puts on a bit more weight (She was 17kg when we got her and is now 21kg but she still needs to put on 2-3kg more). She is all black with no white on her and comes up to about halfway up my thigh so she is quite a big dog. We are positive that she has labrador in her but don't know what else, the vet suggested today that she could be lab cross dalmatian but that makes me think that she should have at least a little bit of white on her chest?

Anyway, any suggestions on what breeds they would be would be great
    Thank you!

Welcome! What two lovely pups you have, great work rescuing them and giving them a fabulous new life.

Meika certainly looks Cattle Dog and those ears also make me think spaniel.
Molly looks Lab x Kelpie to me (I know a few and she looks very similar)

They are gorgeous. Enjoying getting to know Molly and enjoy the forum.

I think K@P has hit the nail on the head . My friend has a Spaniel and Meika looks like a spotted version of thier dog. (who happens to be named molly )
I'd put money on Molly having Lab in her and maybe some retriever.

Anyway ,Welcome aboard the dog forum.

Hi and who cares what breed Meika is - I am in love. She is absolutely gorgeous in her photos - way too cute. Molly reminds me of my 1st dog who was a labrador x kelpie but we reckon he had greyhound in him too. When people asked us what breed he was we said he was a "labranation" - which we felt covered everything!

Thanks everyone! They certainly are both wonderful dogs, Meika has the most funny, amazing personality ever and Molly is finally starting to come out of her shell- today was the first day she has had enough courage to walk up the stairs WOOHOO!

I just had to attach a photo of how they were sleeping last night and also one of Molly the day we got her so you can see how much weight she's gained over the last week!

The picture of Molly cuddling Meika is just adorable!!

Poor dear thing, she was so skinny. I cant imagine why she was that skinny in the pound!? Unless she was surrenders/picked up and then immediately put up for adoption!

Welcome Kristy Maree, what two gorgeous puppies and how sweet to see them sleeping so closely together, that is the thing I miss only having one dog now, I love the way they wrap around each other ... Meika and Molly are both absolutely beautiful Molly is looking fantastic in only one week, and she's obviously very happy and relaxed already, good for you ...
