    Default Crazy Hose Games

Talking about the hoses yesterday, I filmed this of Harley this morning - its actually quite tame on his behalf. He normally goes a little more bonkers than that!

Excuse the jungle grass - the OH hasn't been home to mow the lawn in a month and I conveniently forgot how to use the lawn mower My stupid IMovie app doesn't want to work either do there is no editing done at all

She doesn't really get what the fuss is about, she will normally chase Harley and bite his ankles. Sometimes she does little jumps up in the air but she still thinks its just for drinking out of! lol

That it's not as bad as my dog, Luke.

After one squirt of the hose, Luke is on a manic frenzy. He starts whining and pacing and tries to bite the water. We (my friend with her two dogs also) went to a park the other day and the club had a small sprinker going on the oval. We decided to stay on that oval because it was quite hot and even thought Luke would be crazy, at least it would keep them cool. It also gave me the opportunity to practice taking him away from it and getting focus before I would release him back as a reward.

It worked for part of the time but in the end I had to take him away for 15-20mins because he had bloated himself something shocking. Drank too much air and water in the attacks.

We only found out about this behaviour a few months ago, so we're trying to decide on the best way to approach it. He only does it with hoses and sprinklers, not spray bottles, taps or anything like that, which is good.

I'm assuming the behaviour is possibly as a result of being in the shelter system. Having their runs sprayed out when they are in them, just a guess. It may also just be a prey instinctual behaviour, but I doubt it from my end.

I'll see if I can get a video of Luke, though I don't like to encourage the behaviour.
