    Seen that add..
A few weeks back there was some sort of scam where 2 Dogues were stolen.
the female was pregnant from deception bay..
Ended up they were found and had given birth and all were fine..
Apparently other Dogue owners jump on this wall and say how bad
it all is ect and that they own this breed and couldn't imagine there's
being stolen.. Then the person that posted the add looks into who has
this breed and somehow gets in contact and steals your dog..
    Bloody Mungrels I reckon.
This guy had heaps of people making inquiries for his pups
how much girl/boys ect ... He never replied to them..
Dam HOAX.. We have 2 be very careful these days..
If someone came onto my property to steal my dogues
they'd be in for a surprise..
My dogs would eat them alive..They are VERY protective.

No one can access council files on registered dogs, who ever started that rumour is ridiculous. Only council works can access it and when you call councils if you have found a lost dog eith council tags they wont give you the owners details they will call the owners themselves and then connect you through.

I am 99% sure they were in my yard last night. We are in the same area dogs were taken from last night and Keira was going beserk at about 2:10 am and I couldn't calm her down (it took hours for her to chill out) while I was trying to get her to calm down my sister got up and when I asked her what she was doing she said she heard the gate, we went outside but couldnt see anything but around the house is dark and we are on a battle axe block. I am sure someone was here, I have never seen Keira so worked up.

i thought it may have been a bit far fetched, but you never know these days. I personally don't trust anybody with my personal details, and i question anytime i have to give any.

That's my opinion anyway, i thought i would share information i received which i find disturbing. Everybody can make their own mind up on that one.

Someone inside the council could get the info though and pass it out to certain individuals. Where there is a will, there is always a way. I was quite relieved to get home tonight to barking lol I've been worrying all day because I am doing a course at the moment on Monday's and Tuesday nights and the OH is overseas so they are alone until late.

Not good about people being in your yard K & P :S I'm going to buy some locks tomorrow and take the beware of dogs sign off of the front gate.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Oh yeah of course a council worker could pass the info out if wanted but the general public dont have access.

Good idea Jadie. Maybe lock them in the house at night if you are not home and the hubby is away.

Ugh! I saw this on BFR too, and I think it's horrible. I'd be taking precautions if I were you guys as well.
My boys aren't Staffies, but I know they wouldn't go without a fight. Having said that, I had a GSD pup taken from my yard about 9 years ago.
    We never saw her again.

K&P - I can't believe they were in your yard! How scary.

Problem is my two sound scary but jump all over you as soon as they see you! Today since I won't be home until late I've left lights on in the house and taken the sign off the gate. Hopefully because Ray's car is there is will look like someone is home! lol

From what i understand about councils and dog registration and information available to the public, in the past you used to be able to ring up your local council read the dogs tag number and they would give you contact information so you can return the dog to the owner. these days if you contact the council about a dog and have it's information they won't tell you anything, they'll either come pick it up or ask you to turn it in to the pound. simple they want money from people collecting their dogs. i think the thefts you speak about would certainly have been encouraged by the theifs seeing others on facebook with very public profiles with pictures/information about their dog then going out on a a bit more than a whim to obtain the dog. a scary thought indeed.

Every time I have called in a dog with a tag they have put me on hold and contacted the owners or tried to and then either connected us through or asked if they can give the owner my details to contact me. Never been asked to turn a dog into the pound or to wait for a ranger to come and in fact when I have wanted rangers to come out they never have.
