Unhappy Does your dog love someone else ?

I've been bitten by the old green eyed monster 'Jealousy'.

I picked him out, i feed him, wash him, train him, medicate him, get up at 1.30 am for toilet times, hug him and just love him.
I've tried my hardest to bond with him and while i know he loves me i know he has someone else....

He ditches me as soon as my daughter wakes up or comes home. He follows her around like a shadow and ignores me unless i'm making his dinner

I guess i should be gratefull he gets along with the kids so well and he is very protective of them both but i cant understand what the big attraction is. She's noisy, rough, at times just plain mean and sometimes just bloody annoying yet he puts up with it all and goes back for more. Is it the old 'treat em mean keep em keen' thing ? Maybe i'm too full on ? My last dog worshipped the ground i walked on. I'm not used to been 2nd choice. I used to be top dog.

    LOL...

Lol I wonder if my OH feels like this?! haha Harley is my little follower He goes everywhere I do! Bella does what will benefit her the most! I think she loves Harley more than she loves me or Ray. She seems to like Ray and I equally! haha

Maybe when he is done with puppyhood and he wants doesn't want to be annoyed any more he will be a daddy's boy

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

I get it Sean. My old dog adored me. She didn't ever show any real interest in anyone else and often felt miserable when I wasn't there and perked up completely if she could just be near me. It's very flattering!

Banjo is even worse than your dog, I reckon. For some reason she gets all exited about total strangers! She'll do anything to get their attention and ignores me when there's others around. Very insulting!

She likes my daughter, but isn't as obsessed with her as Mojo with your girl. Though when we were camping she used to follow her around more than me.

My 15 year old gets upset that my lab/kelpie pays more attention to her 7 year old sister than her.Dexter the staffy cross rescue dog loves everyone in the family and is at his happiest when we are all together.Though in the mornings we meet up with my friend and her dogs in the bush and he will run back to her and sit at her feet with his head up looking for a cuddle,I might as well not be there!

When we had our blue heeler cross she loved my 7 year old as well and she would ride round the garden with Daisy following her with every ball in the house in her basket on her bike, they looked so sweet together.

I know what ya mean. When Mojo was a tiny puppy chicks would come out of nowhere to pat him. The beach was always the best spot.

    YES!

My girl Chevy, was mine. I had her befre I even met OH. he came along and she dropped me. Only deciding to love her mumma more as she reached her twilight years.

    Lennox, loved the Oh too.

Barney just worships the ground the OH walks on, its ridiculous.

I dont knwo why. He loves the dogs, but at the same time, he could happily not have them. As babies they love me, but right when they get to around 6 months, they switch to the OH. The only time they return is when they are hurt then they need mum (liek real kids)

It used to annoy me, particularly with Chev who was MINE for definite before OH. However, I am over it now because I got Pippi. The Oh used to tease me at the start and say "waitll shes a bit older, shell love me best too"...but he was wrong. She adores her mumma. she watches me like a hawk, she follows me round, she snuggles with me on the couch. Sometimes we lie on the couch and stare into each others eyes (weird I know...LOL). She is my litle doggy soul mate I think...I am so in love with her and I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual LOL

ETA: I love Bum (Barney) just as much, but I think Pippi and I have a special bond (OH has even already pointed out to me, he thinks I am going to be the worst ever when she dies - shes only 2 and a half, I dont want to thin about that yet - hes so mean LOL). I feel a bit mean to say that...I do adore both my guys of course....but you know what I am saying im sure...

Nope! My dog will follow someone and demand pats from anyone else, but if leave the room or open my bedroom he'll come running ^_^
