Thread: What Cross Breed is My Dog? Does Red Nose Indicate Pit Bull X ?

Default What Cross Breed is My Dog? Does Red Nose Indicate Pit Bull X ?

Can anyone please identify what cross breeds make up my dog? He is about 1 year old and I am in the process of adopting him from acquaintances that cannot keep him. They tell me he is a Mastiff cross Great Dane, but Im a tad skeptical with his red nose. A few friends have said that a red nose is a pit bull, is this true? He has the sweetest nature and is a gorgeous boy but Im a bit concerned, mainly about the by-laws etc. and if he would be considered a "restricted" breed. If anyone has a similar dog or can give me a heads up here I'd really appreciate it.

He isn't a pure bred so you don't need to be concerned. He doesn't look big enough to be mastiff or great dane

I had a dane x mastiff, and she was a great deal larger than he is. Whatever he is, he is a very handsome boy.
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.

I looked at him and thought mastiff and couldn't see any.
I looked thinking pitty and can see it in his face.
I think its a bit too lanky to be mastiff. Not sure about great dane either coz it would be bigger by 1 year old.

I have 2 mastiff x in my photo album (KImba & Bo) and they look nothing like that..

I would seek advice from something such as the EDBA (if they are still active). Aka Endangered Dog Breeds Assoc of Australia (or something like that anway).

The breed he is identified as is crucial to his future.

    I don't believe he's mastiff x dane...he's too small.

Does definately look like he's got pit bull in him though.

Hmmmm I cant see any Pitt except for the nose.
I actually reckon there is some badly bred Pharoh Hound in there.

Maybe the colour, but Ridgbacks are heaps bulkier
