To me he looks like pit bull x Kelpie or even lab.. just going by the floppy ears and shape of the body...

Very pit bull in the face and colour though he's beautiful

The eyes and nose look Pit to me...but I am far from an expert. I spend my life surrounded by dogs with no nose and who sneeze at you all the time! lol

In photo one you can really see the Pitty in the head. Photo two the body reminds me of a Ridgeback and the head looks Pointer-ish.

It's very difficult to tell crossbreeds by a photo. Even size is difficult to determine due to the angle of the photo.

Red or liver noses are found in other breeds as well as pitties. Think solid liver GSP, CC Retriever, Sussex Spaniel, liver spotted Dalmatians etc.

If I had to take a guess I would say Pitty x Ridgeback. But it's just a guess.

Typicle mastiff X danes to compare the pair.

He might have a little pit in him some where along the track, red noses tend to pop out even generations back.

Here is a pic of my mastiff x dane.
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.

Maybe the colour, but Ridgbacks are heaps bulkier
Hmmm...The 2nd photo - body only- reminded me of a Ridgeback. They're big dogs but quite slim. The face-pit and heeler/kelpie.

He has the sweetest nature and is a gorgeous boy but Im a bit concerned, mainly about the by-laws etc. and if he would be considered a "restricted" breed. If anyone has a similar dog or can give me a heads up here I'd really appreciate it.
Any chance of more photos. ???

It won't matter really, as a part bred Pittbull isn't subject to the same restrictions as a purebred. As long as he is too tall for anyone to mistakenly ID him as a purebred that is - if he stays as lanky as he is you should be fine.

I would say Pitty x by his face. But maybe you can register him as an Amstaff x Ridgeback?

Like Deerhound said - red noses turn up in lots of places, also in Vislas if he does look pointer-ish.

Here is a red nose Pitty as ID'd by a pound recently (and his nose is really red):

And some red pigmented Ridgebacks (and one dark one) - who aren't as heavily built as probably thought and look very like your one in the body:
