Thanks for all of your suggestions! I will look into all of them and see what will be the cheapest alternative to get rid of the nasty little things!

The only product i will ever use now is Comfortis. Expensive yes but no need for flea collars (usless after 1 day IMO), flea shampoo's, carpets sprayed etc.etc.
Dosnt wash of, dog eats tablets straight by itself (no force feeding), last's a month per tablet and has just got us through the worst of summer which is usually a nightmare time for us without a single flea and thats even with him playing with other dogs who arnt so clean.
I reckon it's the best money i have ever spent on a dog and means i only have to wash him about once or twice a month if he's dirty. Weekly flea washes in my opinion is risking washing away essential oils that could lead to skin problems down the track.

IMO Comfortis = No fleas and a happy dog. I have never had so much confidence in a flea product before.

I think Chipps said he uses Comfortis as well. If he's around he might have an opinion on it??

It seems to get rave reviews. I'm so glad we don't get fleas or ticks where I live. Touch wood of course!

I have also heard comfortis is great as well, my groomer swears by it. The only thing that has put me off is the price, if i'm going to spend good money i want it to do everything as well (flea's, worms and heartworm) which is why i liked sentinel. Im going to look online see if i can find it abit cheaper

Sentinel products work fine in Victoria, useless in QLD. Good olde QLD itch grrrrr
Capstar works well in both states. Kills em dead, but not a preventative, also not a pharmaceutical you need to pump your dog with, regardless if it has or doesnt have fleas!
I have reverted to flea collars and daily swims this season. I had lost confidence in Sentinel.

Yeah I just had a look at it then, its around $75 for 6 tablets - lowest I seen was $71.05. I can squeeze Bella into the 22kg+ pack and it works out around $12.5 per tablet, I suppose not to bad. Sentinal works out to be roughly $22 per chew but from what I have read doesn't kill the adult fleas?! Interceptor is around $12.70 a chew so the price of buying interceptor and comfortis works out the same and would be much more effective so it sounds.

Yeah I feel sorry for them too, they are always tied up now out in the sun

Tomorrow I am off to city farmers to go get some things and hopefully get it before it gets bad!
