Default Dog fighting bust (US): tragic, but some happy endings

I came across this article: Beloved Dog Rescued in Michael Vick Case Put to Sleep | Parade.com

If you follow the links in the article you can read the original story about the case and the assessment of the dogs (the 'pancake dogs' reference made me all teary) and a slideshow of 19 dogs with some info on what happened to them.

I followed this story when it first happened. Michael Vicks got off light...They should have thrown the book at him. But because he was famous and a league player he was not punished like he should have been. there was a huge uprising against him on quite a few dog forums.
It is good to see some of the happy endings....At least they found love and caring

Makes me so happy to see at least some of them have a happy ending and get to live a relatively normal life. Interesting to see he kept a "pet" Pit Bull as well... wonder why he couldn't feel any compassion for all of the other dogs he forced into fighting.
