Default Boarding kennels or puppy sitting??

I am getting married in march this year over seas..which means everyone I know will be on holidays with me.
I never leave my lab Josie for longer than a few days as she's mostly an inside dog who sleeps in my bed with me (very spoilt) and if I do have to leave her I'd usually get my mum to have Josie at her house, which I hate doing as she's made to stay outside at all times when she's there
Which brings me to my question..
If you don't have anyone who can mind your dog are boarding kennels ok for a dog who's used to the high life? And does anyone know of any good ones in NSW Sydney/ Illawarra region ?

I've never had to use one, but I know there are quite a few people on here who say their dogs love the boarding kennel, and most of them are inside dogs I'm pretty sure.

Not sure where you are located, but in bigger cities you can usually find pet minders who will mind your pet in their homes. No idea about the cost.

Googling for "pet minding family home" gave me quite a few results. findadogminder.com.au | Home covers all areas.

I've gone back to work in kennels for the busy xmas period. But have worked in them off and on for years and most dogs cope well. Labs seems to especially take it in their stride.
I do know a person who minds dogs in her home and can highly recommend them (if your interested PM me for details). One of my puppy owners take her Whippet there regularly and she gets spoiled just like at home.

Ah ok great thanks for the info
Maybe a minder would suit Josie more than a kennel,
Its so hard coz I feel like no one else can look after her as well as I can..does that sound crazy haha

I can personally recommend Von. She is a friend and I have stayed with her and with the dogs that are hers, fostered or boarded.
I am amazed at how she does it. I have never witnessed a fight or skirmish in the 3 or 4 times I have stayed there.
She is happy to have inspections and offers a pick up and drop off service as well in the Sydney area.
She takes a tot of time to introduce a new one into the mix too. She loves them all.
I would board my dogs there in a heartbeat if I had to.

If you decide on a kennel....check out Bavarian Lodge in outer Sydney.

We had a look and then my mum used them. They arent the flashest kennel around but the space the dogs get is huge, and the guy and his wife who run the place are absolutely lovely.

We never used them, but my mum was so happy with them (she used them when she came up form Melbourne one time), that the next time she came up from Melbourne, rather thanboard her dog down there, she brang him up and boarded him there again.
