Default Dog Grooming salon cash flow??

    Hiya there.
my name is sara and im in the process of opening my very own grooming salon!
im trying to get everything down on paper, and am trying to get as many statistics from as many different salons as possible, so if you own a salon, owned a salon, or have friends or family that do, it would help me greatly if you could answer one or a few questions, and add any extra information you want thanks heaps

    1. how many dogs do you service a day, and what services do they recieve? (put an average number for winter months and summer months) eg winter:5 Summer: 25

    2. how much revenue is produced on a bad day/week(without minus-ing money for bills and supplies)

    3. ^^how much revenue on a good day/week

    4. how much is spent on all supplies, bills, maintenence per month or week(not including rent)

if anyone can give me help with this it would be massively appreciated
Im also looking for some mentors, some people who i can call on for advice when sticky situations come up, or just to give me tips. So if you feel you could lend a helping hand, i would love that pm me.

i am the only animal obsessed person in my whole extended family and friends, and its tough going it alone, so any help is appreciated

    kind regards,
    Sara

I worked for a few months as a large dog clipper and dog washer/dryer at a small grooming place in country Qld. There were 2 fulltime groomers and 2 washers part-time. Here are my answers:
    1. how many dogs do you service a day, and what services do they recieve? (put an average number for winter months and summer months) eg winter:5 Summer: 25

If full staff - summer maybe 30 dogs on a good day (average probably 20), winter maybe max 10 dogs

    2. how much revenue is produced on a bad day/week(without minus-ing money for bills and supplies)

I was paid $15 an hour and occasionally if only 5 dogs they would make $200 in total. Usually I would be sent home sop I guess the one groomer would make $180 dollars.

    3. ^^how much revenue on a good day/week

30 dogs would be $1200 but that would require full staff so 5 hours *2*$15 = $150 for casual staff. So $600 each for 2 groomers. Ignoring costs and tax.

    4. how much is spent on all supplies, bills, maintenence per month or week(not including rent)
Not really sure - a few bottle of shampoo and conditioner, a few bottle of flea rinse, a few sets of blades and advertising.

When you say all supplies do you mean after the setup costs? So your baths, tables, dryers, brushes, clippers etc are not included?

This site sells quality shampoos, conditioners, and things ike hydrobath disinfectants in bulk containers so could help with you estimating costs:

    Pet Network Online Shopping

They also supply physical equipment like dryers, tables etc.

Another good one is here: Clipperworld

I would also have a look at "shop" rents....unless you are planning to have it in your home.

Check out domain.com.au and realestate.com.au to find out how much rent you can expect to pay for the location you want.

not that i have ever done anything remotely similar to running a salon but i'm in marketing soooo also take into account costs for a basic website and any advertising you may need to do in the area to attract new clients....
