I went to great expense on beds and mats but he has chosen the shower and the kitchen tiles as his beds instead !

In hindsight it would have been better and cheaper to buy a brand new foam matress and cut it down to the sizes i needed.

I use kids cots fitted sheets as covers for his crate matress but its a XXX large size. A bit of plastic sheet as a protector helps for crate training too. Good luck with the new pup.

I am not the organized type with bedding and such...we just have to odd blankets around. Dogs choose to lie in certain spots. i only use a very thin mat for "place" training. After that the place is where I point.

So in my eyes, just money wasted.........

M dogs have inside beds and now I dont even bother moving them from the laundry (where they sleep).

When they are in the house the either sleep on the furniture, or the floor...never on their own beds (unless told)

We have a few floating around, but they are also rarely used. But that's probably also because my dog is allowed on the furniture too. My old dog would not lie down on the floor. Fragile bones and little padding... So I used to take one of her mats when we went to visit somewhere where she was not allowed on the couches. Banjo seems to find the carpet comfy enough though.

Thanks for your replies. I did buy one, ill use it to protect the new couch and set a rule that he can only go on the couch in his bed, and also for the car seat, i have the restraint that clips into the seat belt holder.
