    So... Here's another... Related... Question... I guess for those who support the designer dog breeding concept;

    I love Dobes. I think they're great. I also like Poodles- think they're great too. Out there in the world one can also buy a Dobe Poodle cross. A DoberPoo, or a Poodlemann take your pick. Why?

    Apart from outrage that someone out there thinks they can improve my beloved Dobes by crossing with Poodles... (And how is a Poodle improved by adding Dobe?)... Seriously what on earth are they achieving? This question goes for every other cross out there...

    What is the designer concept providing... Other than the illusion?

    Oh Pugger it never ends... One big time puppy farmer in the USA was producing "Salukidoods". Thing is, she's so well known as a puppy farmer no saluki breeder would sell to her - her reputation preceded her. She had to go to Qatar to escape that reputation an buy a saluki bitch to import to the US so she could put her standard poodles over. For what???

    But I'm sure there's no money in it, just the love of it... (irony) :P

    There was a spike in Chinese Crested x Dacshunds a while back...OMG A HAIRLESS SAUSAGE DOG, never worry about fleas again and the doxie will make it super cute! Uhhh no, these things looked like they had mange, the hairless gene wasn't quite strong enough to push back all the hair and they looked like patchy messes the poor things. And yup you guessed it I was forwarded the link from a lady in Crested rescue who had picked up several pups from the same litter.

    I answered the original question, i want a cavoodle as i like how they look, i think they look better than both their parents and i like the characteristics of both parents and am happy to discover in time which characteristics my pup has.

    There you go. Looks. And to suggest that they get one from rescue is acknowledging that they have a reason for wanting that particular cross.

    And I've said it before, you can argue all you like about purebred breeders breeding for noble reasons, if no one wanted to buy their pups, they wouldn't be breeding them either.
