My dog would make a terrible therapy dog though. Well, she would never pass the assessment as she would be jumping up to the assessor as if she was her long lost sister/brother!

I always thought this was a excellent idea and maybe when i'm older and have more time it would be somthing i would seriously consider.
This year i volunteered a lot of time to a very small rural primary school who didnt even have a caretaker and it was very rewarding so somthing like thier dog safe program for school kids would be excellent. I did notice that its only in Tassy and south OZ at the moment. Its somthing not only every state should have but also every school in my opinion.

My elderly neighbours (80ish) often visit just to see Mojo and they are always saying that it makes thier day to spend some time with him. I can imagine the thrill a whole group in a Retirement home would get out of a visit.

Keep us posted if you take on somthing like this as i would love to hear about it. Thanks for the link too.

Our dogs do therapy work....Katy works with disabled kids, she adores them and them her. Lukey would be suitable too

And Tessa goes to a Nursing home........We "fell" into it. We do a lot of Demos' and take our dogs to big events, people came to us and asked could we visit. i do not really have the time to be a really good regular. It is a shame, but we live rural out of town and everything just takes that initial drive.

Annabelle does not do therapy work, because of her history and especially with the kids, you never know what can happen and I need to protect her
