Weel this little girl hated water in most forms. There was nothing we could do to get her to go into the half clam to cool down.
But take her to the river and we had to have eagle eyes on us as she was in it in a flash.
For some reason the river was her spot and we had to drag her out a number of times, as she was so tired but she would not stop going in for a swim.
It was so weird that she was like that when it came to water.
You really need to suss out why. I have come to see that the more bizarre the behaviour, the more I need to think. I know that's a nasty ask, but nonetheless....

Wider horizons? Easier to escape? ....I ask because your matey might look impulsive and capricious, but they just work on a different level from us mere mortals. ...........faster, deeper........faster, shallower...faster

I don't know, Nick. It may just be personal preference, like all of us have them. Banjo isn't keen on swimming in the pond or any still water - she has done it though, so she knows it's safe. But I took her to a spot at the river the other day where there was a strong current and she got in 3 times in a row without prompting to "surf" the current!
