Default Hello all dog lovers, Couple of Questions!!!!

    Hello,

Thought i would sign up here to be apart of this forum and also ask some helpful questions.

Ok well i own 10 frogs atm and no other pet, we have sat down and spoke to each other and we decided to get a dog, BUT the only thing is my girlfriend is allergic to most dogs and cats. so their for their has to be a breed of dog out their that we could have and not cause her any problems.

    Ok.

    1. We are looking for a medium size dog nothing over 2ft in hight and no less then 1ft.
    2. Must be a kid friendly dog as we have a daughter.
    3. Doesn't moult at all OR to much.
    4. It will get walked every day or 2 probably 2 km walk even possibly a 5km run (with me).
    5. Playful and friendly
    6. Get along with other dogs and people.

So is their any breed of dog out their that matches them answers or close to it???

Help would be very helpful for us to pick a dog to add to the family.

Poodles are the only breed I know of recommended for people with allergies. Schnauzers don't moult either, I believe, but I don't know if that automatically means that they won't trigger allergies.

I love the look of standard poodles. But I especially love how lightweight they are. It's not a breed I would consciously choose for myself, but I'd be happy if I ever ended up with one.

Oops, turns out there's a whole list of breeds recommended for allergy sufferers! Dogs Good For Allergy Suffers, Hypo-allergenic dogs

Though it lists lots of poodle crosses and quite a few breeds that would be very hard to find here.

Poodles are a good pick, and you don't have to get them clipped the way they do for shows.
There's quite a few different breeds it just comes down to personal preference
    Congrats & goodluck

There is currently only two Xolos in Australia and any planned pups will be ordered well in advance so they can be crossed off any list.

The lady that owns those 2 Xolos happens to live in my town and is part of my dog club. She is also our local RSPCA officer. Lovely lady.

You will need to just spend time with different breeds, I know people who are allergic to the so called "hypoallergenic breeds" yet are fine with some others.

I am allergic to dogs but only ones with very short hair, I'm fine with longer coated breeds.
