    Default Our Dog Run

Lukey and Katy have just had to alternate in our kennel room/run, because Katy was in season. She was on for 5 weeks. Should have been 3

It has a sand pit, and inside is lined with a off the floor large timber area, where they have their bedding and sleep. It is a very cool place in Summer, because of the tree and get plenty of sun in Winter, because the tree is deciduous. It is also a good place to keep friends dogs when they go away

Here is Lukey looking sad.......Please let me out

Great set up. Even though Lukey's locked up i'm sure he's still a happy fella in there.
Is the bottle hanging from the tree a toy of sorts?

I love seeing your pics Newfsie, your property seems so well set up and your animals so well treated. You and hubby should be proud of it.

It looks mighty comfortable in there, Newfsie. But of course, compared to the house and verandah the dogs usually have and Lukey's sad face is... Understandable.

I spent a fortune creating runs in my yard for Flirtt coming into season... Then had her spayed, lol. But it did come in very handy when she first arrived and thought Villain was lunch!

I cut a third off the bottom if my yard. Built a retaining wall, added a pool fence on top. Created steps and a boardwalk. Then put down a concrete slab and built a colorbond shed on there which was separated into two 2m x 3m pens. Added a shade sail, umbrella, sand pit, 2 Aussie dog hanging balls, multiple tugs, nailed up bicycle tyres to hide things in, hoops to jump through, a clamshell pool, even a red fire hydrant. They still prefer the back deck! Lol! But it is a godsend when I have builders here as it keeps everyone safe and happy.

I think a good run is.... Worth it's 'weight' in gold!!

Yes the bottles are Katy's toys, she loves them and bounces them along like a boxer with her nose

Interesting you'd let Katy out... I hope she doesn't get visited by the neighbour's dog from down the road... Smell bitch, will travel (miles).

we actually have a very secure yard and she was only out whist we were with her and the two other girls. But she was mostly inside when Lukey was in the kennel run and vise versa. We also did a lot of umbilical. Mike with Lukey and me Katy. It has been really great for Lukey and made him a good heeler, which he was not.
We also live miles away from any other dogs and the nearest work dogs are all girls. We are lucky that way, not one visitor. Mind you we never took her off property, so no trail was put out for the lads to find
We have had bitches for years and "touch wood" have never had a unwanted pregnancy. When we lived near town it was much more difficult.
