    Hi Angel

Sad for you. My brother got a gorgeous staffy - but he went to the local Staffy club and his is tan with black and white points and quite healthy apart from breaking a leg as a 6 month old puppy jumping off something she shouldn't have been on.

If I wanted a purebred - I'd be joining the local club and listening to what everyone had to say about each other, tuning out the overly bitchy people - you know the one that says everyone but them is doing it wrong - erm... And maybe buying from the one that shows or competes in obedience/agility but doesn't win every time.

At least if you buy local, it's much easier to get redress when you need.

Maybe this QLD blue SBT person needs a visit from the current affairs media people or the RSPCA.

I certainly like outside independent recommendations when buying anything off the net. Ie I assume the testimonials could be written by the person whose website it is. And you'd think you'd be getting what you pay for ie more money is better but there are limits. Is Grange really that 5x better than E&E wine? I don't think so. Is E&E 5x better than Kangarilla road - better yes, but 5x better?

Good point Hyacinth!......if only I knew then what I now now, not only about this breeder, but about the requirments to show this breed and so forth. It really has been an informative experience!!!!! (got to look on the bright side).

My husband suggested ACA also lol

I do know you're not alone in being had by this particular person. Or most breeders of "blue" staffies. Ie if they're deliberately trying for blue there's a problem. Ideally theyd' be trying for healthy and colours within the breed standard. And if they got a healthy blue or any other colour - good luck.

Personally I think "blue" looks good on weimeranas...

If there are others out there that have dealt with this breeder or any other dodgy staffy breeders please get in touch with me! I'd like nothing more than to put a stop to this one or any others that have no scruples!

Maybe I'm a small fish in a big pond but it starts somewhere!!!

Every breed has their dodgy Breeders. We have one in the newf world, who sells lots of puppies that have not been health checked (or their parents) and some not even registered, even though he tells the new owners they will be.He has taken deposits and not followed through and he has also traveled from state to state to prevent being able to be prosecuted.
This person also sells Bernese Mountain dogs and maremma's. I think every breed has people like this and they often are still members of the canine bodies/clubs of their breed.
I am afraid it is up to the purchaser to be very careful as to where they buy from, there are no guarantees. The dog breeding world has many dodgy people in it. And just because they are registered does not mean that they are not.
And you will be pushing sh.. uphill trying to stop them. The many good newfie Breeders have tried to stop this particular man with no luck. He has even managed to stop us from naming him.....Go figure

I don't know of any dodgy breeders in my breed but I can guarantee they are out there. There will always be people who want to cut corners with breeding and it's the puppies and the buyers who pay for it.

My secondary breed has dodgy breeders coming out the wazoo and I know of many who are still doing the wrong thing even after being called out on it. I am just thankful there are still people out there trying to the right thing and make a good name for their chosen breeds... Sasly they are just getting harder and harder to find.

as far as i know...... you can show and breed blues, and yes they can be fully papered......

this has been taken from the AKC

"Red, fawn, white, black or blue, or any one of these colours with white. Any shade of brindle or any shade of brindle with white. Black and tan or liver colour highly undesirable. "

now speaking gto the breeder who i got mine from he says that there are a few blues floating around the show ring, he doesnt agree with blues, but it is what it is......

sorry to hear about your expeience with a dodgy breeder..... hope it works out for you.

i haven't dealt with a breeder, but when i got my sandy (i got her through SAFE the pet rescue site) she had mange and boy oh boy was i unhappy at the lady that i had brought her off. It is something that takes a lot of your money and time (giving the treatment) i had her on treatment for 10 weeks to get rid of it. it is a horrible thing to have to go through for both the dog and yourself. but like i said mine wasn't through a breeder but none the less these ppl that seel dogs on knowing for well that it is an issue should be stopped from selling dogs
