Its funny that they know when to expect us, I can come home at like 12 and they won't be waiting but after about 4 until we get home they do. They can hear the OH's car coming down the road too which gets them even more excited!

No probs Chubbsecurity, I will use them again when we have to get more!

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

My dog knows my car sound and the gate sound.

Not sure about "waiting for me". I guess so. She doesn't do much when I'm out. Always at her most evil when I'm home and not paying attention.

[QUOTE=jadielee87;147525]Do your dogs wait for you to get home after work/being out? Harley and Bella have always done it. Now that Bella is in her run Harley waits by himself! So cute!

Not to sure go be honest, I mean they are happy to great me, big smiles and a wagging tail etc as dogs do. But to actually wait on my return as the head honch-O I don't really think so, I hope not anyway.

My dogs were never at the gate waiting for me, but will come running when they hear my car. I have pretty irregular working hours too, so that may have something to do with it.

I was always glad when my old dog didn't immediately come to the gate when I returned from work and I had to call her a few times before she appeared from under the house, obviously woken up out of a deep sleep.

At the front door, usually laying down about 1m inside it, all four dogs. Every night. Apparently they move there half an hour before I get home.

Kinda spooky, given that most nights I don't even know when I'll be getting home from work!

Just thought I would add to this.

My OH has been away for the last week and a half, and Barney is a real daddies boy. He has been waiting by the front door every night. From the time they come in in the evening until I go to bed, he is in front of the door.

I ave even seen him look at the car and whine a few times LOL.

Must be missing his dad huh - lucky he gets home tonight.

When I went away for a week Pippi latched onto my daughter (Pippi is very much a mamas girl) and it was like she was literally glued to her apparently. I guess Pippi did that because the kid is the closest thing to me in the house Lol

My first dog "Storm", a big black Labrador would walk with me and my brother about a kilometre to the bus stop every morning. Every arvo i would look out the school bus window and see my big mate waiting patiently to take us home. The bloke across the road from the bus stop told me he was always there about 5 minutes before the bus so somehow he knew what the time of day was. He was a smart cookie. R.I.P big fella...
