So I just googled parti poodle to see what it looks like. It kinda looks like a poodle that has dressed up as a pointer for Halloween.

Owning a dog should be a partnership. Much like a good marriage it should be based on love, trust and devotion until death do you part.

Wow.. what are you doing person!!
I dont think you really want to consider breeding from your bitch again..... im not sure that more than three times is responsible.. the more times you breed from her the more chances of defects becoming prominent.... and not to mention the poor girl who is becoming a puppy machine!!

I think that's the point, boomps wants to have another bitch to breed from - but not keep it at their place. That's a fairly common strategy - I've heard of it and I'm not hanging out with breeders.

    It can be done responsibly.

    ANKC code of ethics says
    Australian National Kennel Council

    - not more than twice in 18 months and not more than 6 litters over the life time of the bitch. Which I guess means if the bitch started at 2yo and had the last litter at 6.5 years, you'd get four litters in. Not sure how a bitch would manage 6 litters if they have to be 1.5 years apart and you don't want to be breeding over the age of 8 or maybe younger depending on breed.

    11. A member shall breed primarily for the purpose of improving the quality and / or working ability of the breed in accordance with the breed standard, and not specifically for the pet or commercial market.

    12. A member shall not breed with a bitch unless the bitch has reached adequate maturity for that breed as determined by the member’s Member Body.

    13. A member shall not breed a bitch (except under extenuating circumstances) causing it to whelp more than twice in eighteen months without the prior approval of the member’s Member Body.

    14. A member shall not breed a bitch (except under extenuating circumstances) causing it to whelp more than six times without prior veterinary certification of fitness for further breeding, and without prior approval of the member’s Member Body.

    15. A member shall not permit any of that member’s pure bred dogs to be mated to a dog of a different breed, to a cross bred dog, to an unregistered dog of the same breed, or to a dog not on the Main Register without the prior approval of the member’s Member Body.

    16. A member shall take responsible action to reduce the incidence of hereditary diseases in accordance with the ANKC Ltd Code of Practice for Hereditary Diseases.

My grand mother was one of 18 - and it took two women to make that many babies. The first one died when her last was 2yo. Exhaustion I suppose. :S
