    Default Oh So Determined!!

Little miss Bella for the past two days has been banished to the lounge room floor, now after getting to sit and sleep up on the comfy lounge with Mum this just isn't on! lol

She will try and jump up and I will put her back on the ground and she tries this about 3 times, she just doesn't want to give up! lol When she does, she give me "the look" and sits down and annoys Harley. lol Staffies are definitely determined dogs... as I have written this she has tried 5 times to get up here

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

    I love the blanket method!

Batty is only allowed up if his blanket is on the couch/bed. I just have to remember to take it off every so often

Our are allowed on if they have asked......Or as a reward. They have to do something before they are allowed on. And when we ask them to get off, they have to get off quick.

My dog is always allowed on the couch next to me.

Only problem with that is - she has happily generalised that to all couches that I sit on. And some chairs. Sometimes I use that to my advantage to keep her in one place - ie on the chair behind me or next to me, but when I'm visiting, most other people (or their dogs) aren't ok with strange dog on their couch.

One of your dogs on the couch would barely leave space for anyone else!

I've always allowed my dogs on the couch. It's one of the reasons why I bought leather couches too. But they do have to get off when told. Same with the bed.

My old dog hated lying on the floor. I honestly think that it was partly because she had such a slender build and as she got older it hurt her bones. But she always looked so indignant if she had to lie on the floor when we visited someone.

My dogs are also allowed on the couch. Jodi is now 2 months post op for her luxating patella so she was not allowed to jump. After her 6 weeks of confinement she was allowed to walk around the loungeroom but not jump on the couch yet.

What worked for her was laying newspapers on it. She didn't want to then. I have also heard that tinfoil works well too.

I have my own chair but hubby has the lounge so when no one was on it it worked very well as I said.

Maybe put them next to you? The blanket idea should work well too.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

We do the blanket trick as well, anywhere the blanket is he will sit and settle on, it works well for us simply because of the two house situation but now no matter where he is he is always "at home" on his blanket on the floor, couch, chair, car seats we also found it great when visiting as he will stay on the blanket and not run riot because of new smells etc
