Default Soon to Be Vet Nurse

so i've been very absent the past week because i've been out playing vet nurse! i took a week off work and went to do some work experience at a vet clinic (as i've decided to take the plunge and study vet nursing next year!!). It was a very interesting experience that's for sure.

You really learn a lot about the type of people we have out there and just how important money is to people. The type of people who will happily put down a dog that is not sick/old/diseased and console their children with the statement "it's ok we'll get another puppy." But then you get the people who will do absolutely anything for their pet and that's what puts a smile on your face.

I also learn NOT to assume every animal that comes into the clinic is friendly..haha.

Netherless, i'm very excited to finally be doing something with my life that makes me happy!!

Congrats on the choice, you will be in for a rewarding and sometimes heartbreaking ride but it sounds like you will enjoy doing the job best of luck to you with your studies. Hold on to the moments that make you smile to get you through the ones that don't

LOL I assume NO pet is friendly and have been bitten a few times and my OH can walk up to feral dogs and protection dogs and they lick him to death.

Aw yay congratulations!! I wanted to do vet nursing but trying to get work in a clinic seems near impossible and I can't afford yet to quit my job and do volly work full time so that I meet the criteria to even get into the nursing course!

Good luck, you will have to keep us informed of how you do!

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

I remember those days....I worked for a vet many moons ago. There were no courses in those days, just on the job training. I started after School, about two hours per day of "slave" labour. Before I started my Human Nursing Career (which pays much better and you are never unemployed).
I loved working with animals and I still use some of the knowledge learned (suturing animals) and I wish well in your new venture
