Can anyone help me. I want to buy two Cavoodles when we move to Queensland next year but everyone says don't buy from pet shops so I have googled Cavoodles for sale and most people that sell are not in Queensland. So I would have to buy over the internet without actually seeing the pups which I dont really want to do as everyone suggets. So where do I find Cavoodles for sale near where we will be living - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

no such thing as a reputable breeder of cross breed dogs. A "cavoodle" is actually a cross between a cavalier and a poodle.

Why not look at pure bred dogs of either breed? It will be a much more predictable dog than a cross of the two.

Thanks for your comment. I know exactly what a cavoodle is and this is the dog that we want. I have read about many people who are delighted with their cavoodles and would like to find out where to get 2 from other then a large breeder or a pet shop.

Thanks but would prefer to buy 8 week old pups and I don't think pet rescue will have young pups. Having 2 young children I would like pups and kids to grow up together.

I would recommend talking to people who have cavoodles - not just reading about it. Most of what I can find on the web that is positive about cavoodles is put up by the puppy farm marketing people. Ie you can't believe it.

Stuff you have to watch out for
    fearful dogs
obssessive compulsive problems like feet licking
and problems with coat and ear infections.

And chances are if the dog came from a puppy mill it won't be good at interacting with other dogs.

Pet Rescue often has young puppies on there.

You're not listening to the answer to your question.

There is no such thing as a reputable breeder of cavoodles. If you have your heart set on a cross breed that is simply a puppy mill's money making scheme, then go out and get one from a pet shop or dodgy breeder. Good breeders don't crossbreed dogs without a purpose and permits from their canine control council/the ANKC.

Don't expect anyone to pat you on the back for supporting puppy farms & BYB's because it won't happen. BTW, if you do get one from a pet shop, not only have you NOT 'saved it' you have also sentenced it's parents to a fate worse than death. Same goes for BYB's.

(Tired, cranky & over hearing the same thing a few hundred times over.) Probably not the best time to post!)

That is a big concern for me.

It sends the message that it's OK to buy a dog for someone else. Perhaps with or without their consent. Like a surprise birthday or Christmas gift...

I do realise in NSW, that the purchaser must be listed on m-chip/rego/sale documents, but what about other states? Can a third party purchase a dog as a gift?

Well obviously this is the wrong place to post my question as you are all anti cross breeders. I have as a child owned cross breeds and they have been WONDERFUL dogs. We will be giving the dogs a loving home and cannot wait to get them. I dont want a poddle and I dont want a Cav. So I will find another place to help me find a loving caring BYB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as I am sure they are not all breeders that hate dogs!!!

    Hi PM..

Not going to discuss your choice of breed, as the others have already made comment.

    But

Perhaps hold off looking for the specific breeders for now. Wait until you are established in QLD. The new environment may not suit or need modifying. When 100% ready to go, then start looking for your new companions.

    Cheers

    Back OT.....
