No Ruby will be fine.. she can be contained and you can show that. It's the other dog without a fenced yard.

You are better off telling the whole and true story. Especially if there is the possibility that someone else has already called about it.

    Agree with K&P...

Keep to the facts. If you feel another may have said something to the council, then you don't need to complicate this.

Can see where Beloz is coming from, but it's more than a wandering dog in this situation.

Well I called the council, made a report!

They apparently needed to know every detail of my life and about Ruby but very few details about the other dog and where they live!

They honestly might as well have asked me if I am a scruncher or a folder FFS! It was crazy..

So we will see what happens now!

    That is disappointing.

Did they actually take the address of the dog who roams?

Maybe the owner of the roaming dog saw what happened and called first, made it sound like your fault? Don't know.

As long as you gave a full and accurate account of what happened you can do nothing more. Ruby doesn't roam so she is fine and safe.

Yup making council (legal) reports are like that. Something to do with needing evidence that will withstand the adversarial legal system we have. Two lawyers going at it, two dogs, what's the difference?

I have to be careful when I get my dog into or out of the car, she can easily jump the fence and will to chase a cat, or a jogger, or greet a friend across the road. Scares the bejesus out of me. I'd like for her to understand that it's not ok for her to jump the fence without my say so, but for the moment, that means staying on lead until we're in the back yard (better fence) or in the house.
