Default Jill, the Giant Rescue, Look at Those Eyes

So I have an absolutely wonderful friend who is also involved with giant Rescues. Jodie has a heart of gold and some.

Jill has had some major Surgery
We are working hard at rehabilitating this girl, she is so trusting.
So far she was lucky in the fact that a vet in Melbourne did all the vet work on her so far for free ( Major bowel surgery). And our local vet is doing all follow work up for medication at cost only. We are lucky that way........And Mike has just made some nice soft beds for her out of some lovely material we had.To prevent pressure sores. She has no orthopedic issues.

Jill, first ones were at the vets.......The others are at my friends place

yes we are lucky here with the vets....A Rescue i had last year was well taken care of by another of our local vets. Without being asked. Just said "taken care of ", when I asked how much.

I just cannot get my head around why people do this to these beautifully tempered dogs. And how they are still so trusting of people. She is just so happy and eager to please.

In my view they arnt people Newfsie, they are oxygen thieves who better steer well and truly clear of me.
I remeber when i was a kid i kicked a Bullterrier for some reason. I still feel quilty some 30 odd years later and if a Bully ever bites me on the arse, well i know i deserve it.
I believe in Karma and whoever did that to this lovely dog deserve everything they get.
Your vets and you guys desrve a big pat on the back.

Is she a Pyrenean? That amount of malnutrition in a giant! Looks like it started in her growing phases - she must have been poorly for a long, long time. Even if it was caused by a metabolic fault instead of pure neglect they left it too long before seeking medical attention.

    Sometimes I just hate people.

It will mean a long long road to recovery...I am so glad that she is in rescue now!

We are not sure if she is a Pyr or Maremma.....A little hard to identify right now. But she needed help. She is putting weight in every day. Small amount at the time. is fed five times a day. I have had several giants at this weight. My Annabelle and Tobias being two of them. Slow healthy feeding of lots of small meals, really works well. We use a RAW and Porridge type meals with lots of extra vitamins and such
