I don't think anyone here is in any doubt about my opinion.
IMHO ten years is not enough, it should be classed as manslaughter and attract at leasst a 15 year sentence. We're talking about human life. If Crested_Love reckons 10 Years is too much for a fatal dog attack then how much do they think would be appropriate then?
No, you haven't answered our questions. You've picked and chosen, ignored more than half and the ones you have answered you've been vague, indecisive and confusing through.

If I were being rude, you'd know all about it, and I would have been banned by now.

Personally I believe it depends on the circumstances. If someone breaks into my home and threatens me and my dog attacks them and the burglar winds up dead, I should not be charged. If someone approaches me with a knife while I'm walking my dog (has happened) and my dog scares them off or attacks them, I don't want to be charged for that either.

Not every circumstance is black and white. Some dogs attack when they are cornered, lost, injured, scared and for a myriad of other reasons.

I do believe that a person should be charged if they have not adequately contained their dog (regardless of whether it is registered as dangerous or not). I also don't believe the dogs owner should be charged if a child ventures on to their property and antagonises a dog they don't know. Same for if out in public when the dog is leashed and under control, if a child smothers the dog without the owners consent (daily occurance here) I don't believe the dogs owner should be charged. Basically if the owner is negligent then the owner should be charged. If it is due to anothers negligence the dogs owner should NOT be charged.

You can only control the actions of an animal to a certain degree, there has always been and there will always be the unknown.

If my dogs somehow escaped at attacked someone I don't think I should be going to jail for it. Slap me with a hefty fine, make me take animal safety/control courses, whatever, but jail is just too extreme for me. My dogs are well trained, have never acted aggressively towards anyone, family or strangers but as I said, there is always the unknown.

If someone is abusing a dog, or causing harm that is another story, lock them up till they rot, that is their behavior, not the animals.

From the moment I say "I'll have that one thanks" the dog becomes my responsibility 24/7 for the rest of it's life.

So if someone smashed the window of your house and your dog escaped, you are fully prepared to spend 10 years in jail?

So if your dog got out and for some reason he killed a kid, you'd be cool when the coppa comes and slaps the cuffs on mate?
Remember in jail ya get chucked in with men.
No keyboard to hide behind and no dog loving women to hack on tough guy.

Ha ha ha. I assume this is aimed at me. Don't know that I'd be cool with it, but if it's the law...
Do you think you should get less time or a lesser punishment?
I'd never have to worry about this cause I'm never going to own the sort of dog that would ever - could ever pose even the slimmest chance of this.

I promised myself I would not reply to you at all, but when you make stupid statemnets, like I would never own one that would do that.

You are somethng else, and I am yet to find the right title.

If your dog has teeth it is as likely to bite and or kill if it happened to be in such a postion that it had to.
So grow up and just listen to your own remarks.
