Most dogs like being near their owners when they're around though. But you don't want to get a dog that is more likely to suffer from separation anxiety.

True and I don't think I have ever met a dog that didn't like to be near you, like when you get home they HAVE to say hello, if you sit on the lounge they HAVE to sit at your feet, or on your lap etc

I think that's a trait that you build into your dog by the level of affection you give them.

    Small/Medium

walking - Less the better but it's not really a big issue, i have plenty of time to walk a dog before and after work and on weekends, Also - I fish almost every couple of days and i would like a dog i could take with me.

Training simple, Sit, stay, STOP BARKING!

    Short coat preferably

Rescue greyhound? I'm serious, it fits your criteria IF you agree with me that greys are cute (which I do).

Otherwise, maybe try some online 'breed selector' tests- just google 'breed selector'.

Greyhounds look awesome! They aren't too big though are they?

    What are staffys like?

I'd prefer somethings thats not a "big dog" but it needs to enjoy fishing and outdoors but be capable of being inside too, Sorry if i'm being too picky

well if you think the grey hounds look good, but yes they are quite tall, go for a whippet maybe?

I wouldnt go a staffy if you are not familiar with them to be honest.
