yeah, that's true, but pit bull is not a recognised breed either, and there are alot of people on their side, including me, just saying there is a breed there, and there are people working hard on it, I see the bull arab today as the pit of 150 years ago.

I think a lot of breeds happened to be in the right place at the right time and got included on the registry, it is very hard these days to become recognised

Could someone post a picture of the these different dogs so us who will more than likely ever own one know what we are talking about.
I think this would settle a few scores like I can tell you I have no idea about what is an Amstaff or a Pit or a Bull arab.
So if there were pictures for us to look at then we may be able to add constructive remarks to this.

search this site or google or wikipedia, you'll find it, though the wikipedia for bull arab is not a good page or very informative

I tried to do the link thing but it wasn't working for me

Just looked up these dogs and they have said the the Bullarab is an Australian breed.
Now this is something that I didn't know. They were designed for pig hunting.
So we Australian's have yet another dog breed to our names.

Thanks chop, I wondered what they put in them. I've seen pictures of them, not very nice looking dogs in my opinion so I didn't really look much further into it, I thought they might have put in english bulldog or even mastif for some of the larger ones

Jonbox its just selective breeding. If you look at American Bulldogs they are quite tall and muscular like Pitties. They just choose to breed the short stubby dogs to other short stubby dogs and so on and so forth umtil they have those monstrosities they call AmBullies. You can selective breed for almost any trait you want.

You're welcome Jon and pretty much what K&P has just said about differing types . There are those though that do try very hard to produce strong , deep bodied dogs that can still move ....just rarely. And just to add a true American Bulldog is really quite a magnificent dog IMO .

Rid its hard to place up pics of an Amstaff/APBT because if you find two well bred individuals its going to be near impossible to tell them apart . I did post a guess if Amstaff or APBT ages ago , will see if I can find it.
