I want to see the movie, I used to own a kelpie when I was younger. Such beautiful dogs.

I hope the ones in resuce shelters find homes. Though I'm affraid kids will want a kelpie but then get bored of the dog and then there will be more to rehome
My dog is my best friend and helps me though those hard days.

We always had working Kelpies, We lost Nugget only last year

The last Kelpie movie was Dusty and I don't think that made a great impact on Kelpie Breeding. There are already so many about........

Saw Red Dog today! it was brilliant!
hopefully it will increase the rate of kelpie adoptions and not people wanting an adorable little pup just like the one in the movie.

I'm still trying to find a time when I'm free to watch the movie!

These 2 days, every time I walk Milo, at least one person would say "hey that's the dog from Red Dog!" I sure think soon enough I'd be getting questions about how to get kelpies >_<

I to think that the rate that people will take up on owning a Kelpie rise to.
I think the same happened after Beethoven to with the Saint Bernards being wanter by families.
Spos this is what we call a trend. Once the trend is gone and the people don't want to have it no longer because of the popularity has gone. Is when the dumpage rate rises through the roof.
And this is why I think that all new owners of pup should have to have a licenses to prove they are serious about ownership. And this could even go for some who have one now to.

I just hope that if the parents have trouble saying NO (even though a Kelpie is hard work, and their child will get over it and want something else in a day or two) and feel the need to raise up a kid who thinks they can have whatever they want, whenever, they adopt.

Though it's likely a lot of selfish breeders will take advantage of the movie. I'm surprised that I never asked my parents for any animals I saw on movies. I always wanted pets... I guess none of the animals appealed to me at the time...
