    Default Renting with Pets Grrr

Just a winge about renting these days with pets..

We are trying to find a place as our owner now suddenly doesnt want our dogs here..

    Anyway,

Its so incredibly hard to find a landlord that will let you have a pet!

I have spoken to a few realestes and one over the weekend actually said that they suggest to every owner not to allow pets. Grrrr That I am going to find it hard to find a place!

The only place I have found in the last 3 mnths that will allow pets was an unfenced 2 bed cottage that looked like it would blow over in the next storm. They were charging a rediculous price for it too!

My Kids do more bloody damage then my dog does FFS!

    So over idiot realesates

    Know what you mean.

Try Gumtree. Landlords will often advertise on their ie: no realestate agents

Also use this to help search for pet friendly places
    http://www.petfriendlyrentals.com.au/

Do up pet resumes, I know it seems silly but the more effort you put in the more likely they are to take you seriously.
Also if you have a good relationship with you neighbours, get them to write referrals, ie: that your dogs are good, don't bark, well trained etc etc.

    What area are you after?

We are moving out of our rental around 22nd of Ausgust (when we go to Brissy) and its a private rental, no agent.

Our landlord is quite happy with dogs and he doesnt mind them inside either.

    However, house isnt flash LOL

yeah it sux, we're very lucky at the moment, the real estate that we rent through like us for some reason, they were who we rented our last house from and when the owner wanted to sell their house we were able to rent through the same agent again as they new we do the right thing.

good luck with it, I hope you find a nice house.

You should be able to see it from the other side too. A landlord may have had big problems in the past which then makes it hard for responsible renters.

Yea it sux when you know that you will do the right thing but they don't.

I can't find somewhere for Rox and I either. I met one lady, she was nice, but wanted me to wear slippers in the house the entire time (yet was fine with Rox running in there) and didn't have grass. She also wanted me to ask her every time I had someone over and the time they were over was limited (I would be renting a room in her house). No thanks.

It's hard! You'll get there though. I'd also recommend staying away from agents and looking for private ads. A friend of mine is a real estate agent and he told me I'd never be allowed anywhere with a dog. I really want to prove him wrong!

Before we bought our own property we rented some very dodgy houses on land. Where we painted and did minor renovations with our own money. It is even more difficult if you have large dogs and horses. But we got ourselves a good name and when we had to move once because a road was going straight through the property the Estate Agents actually found us another farmlet, because we had done so much for the previous property.
Good luck with finding somewhere. Just don't overlook the cheap and nasty. It is amazing what a lick of paint can do

My daughter wanted to get a pup which now was a fair while ago.
She rang the real estate agent, who then rand the owner.
And it came back that she was allowed to have pets.
So just maybe if you go through your real estate agent and try this once more.
I am sure you would have already done this but.

I have heard of owners not even allowing a bolw with a fish in it.
And I think that who put down if you have kids and pets just make it that more harder to find a new place to live.
