Sorry this is a bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed the pattern with heated threads?

We go from RAGH ARGH NO! to calm all in the span of a single page. That's 3 this week that's happened in.

Do you think it's less distressing for a 12 week old pup to be torn away from it's mother to be sold?

I just feel really strongly that a dog is for life, When you take a dog into your home, you should only do so with the expectation that you will everything in your power to ensure the needs of that dog are met. Of course things happen in life beyond your control, where you dont have a choice.

For instance elderly folks who's health goes downhill and are unable to provide care, couples have children who develop serious allergies, job relocations overseas where the animal will have quarratine issues? But breeding and rehoming to make room for more is not an excuse. Someone mentioned before there breeder has 18 dogs?

How can you properly take care of 18 dogs? There is more to pet ownership than feeding them, brushing them and fresh water, they deserve better. I know I will have the wrath of many frowning down on me, but to me the description of a backyard breeder is one who has more dogs than they can provide wholesome care for, walks, stimulation, attention, car rides, swimming in the dam etc, someone who has no intention of keeping the dogs past their "useby date", does not provide proper nutrition or vet care or environment. Dogs can not live in cages!!!!!!

The excuse of improving the breed, is just not good enough! You CAN improve the breed, without rehoming, will just take a bit longer and their are many many more doing the same so you can all work together for a common goal. Keep the retirees and co own and show the offspring with other breed enthusiasts. Win for you and a win for your animals!

You can count 2 litters in those 18 dogs
All indoor dogs.. not in cages.
All very loved and well cared for.
Miley took a couple of weeks to settle in this new environment, but once she did she was happy. She's my shadow now. She follows me everywhere. Not sure how she would go being re-homed now as we have bonded so closely, but I have no intention on re-homing her anyway.
I guess the difference is, that being that she is an only dog, the bond I have with her is probably tighter than someone with 6+ dogs.. even though they do love their dogs dearly.

She sounds beautiful and I can see you love her a lot....nothing else matters! Is she a pug?

haha @ Velcro I can only imagine how she got that name.

Miley is almost 6. She is also spoiled rotten.. she's sleeping in my bed right now.. my side too no doubt... and on my pillow

And off topic, I did actually read your post earlier that you were making a snide remark towards me.. if you weren't then I do apologise. Its' very hard to interpret meaning on forums at times without tone.

I wasnt intending to make any snide comments. If you mean the 18 dogs? I read that post, but didnt realize it was yours when i mentioned it. i wasnt being smart, just using that as an example. While it may have appeared so, I had no intentions of singling out anyone here. I am just so passionate about the welfare of dogs, my anger is towards those who have another agenda. I think I mentioned many many times, I am certainly not pointing the finger at ALL breeders, because I am fully aware there some fantastic advocates for dogs who breed. I am pointing out certain practices that i dont agree with...is just my opinion, and we all have one.
