Lady is always off the lead unless I see another dog. Her 'lead', is my 'heel'.
Roly is only off in fenced areas.

Rufus is only on lead when walking on the street - ie near traffic. Luckily, I've found a few places to walk up here and though they're not fully fenced- walking paths etc, he stops on cue - for now

If we're in a fully enclosed area with no other dogs I'd let my dogs off but otherwise they are always on lead.

We walk with Mindy on the leash most areas. Off leash in the new housing estate up the road. No houses there yet, just plenty of grassy lots.

Also off leash at the dog beach, and our favourite dog park.

We don't really do off leash...too many ignorant people who do not understand my breed and not worth the trouble really!

Boss mainly is off leash, unless we are going to come across another dogs or lots of traffic.

Mine are always on lead. I use to take them off in off leash areas but other owners would come and let theirs off leash even though they were dog aggressive. I had too many close calls.

I find this thread frustrating, your dogs should not be off lead anywhere in public except designated off lead area's... So many time's I hear, my dog was on lead and a dog off lead rushed up to it... owning a dog is a responsibility, one which I wish more people would take seriously... Leave your dog on lead, I don't care how well behaved your dog is, it's a dog and dogs behave like dogs....

P.S. I'm not voting, because I am comfortable with my dogs off lead, but still chose to keep them on..

If theres no sign telling me to put my dogs on a lead, then im gonna leave them off.
Ignorant, rude - whatever. I don't let either of my dogs approach anyone/thing without my permission. Roly can't be trusted, thus why he's on a lead.
